Ocean Collective appoints Strategista founder Daniel Warence as CEO. As a result, Strategista pauses its interim leadership practice.
In January 2026, Ocean Collective brought in Strategista to lead its commercial agenda through a reorganisation. Daniel Warence stepped in as interim Chief Commercial Officer. Nine months later, Ocean Collective has asked him to lead the entire group. He takes over as CEO at the turn of the year.
Strategista's interim leadership was built on one principle: step in as an owner, not a consultant. Take full responsibility for the results, as if the business were your own. An interim assignment can end in many ways. Being asked to stay and lead the company is the best of them.

Ocean Collective has a strong platform and a great team, and I look forward to building on what we have started together," says Daniel Warence, founder of Strategista and incoming CEO of Ocean Collective.
Ocean Collective's founder shares the view. "Daniel has come to know the business, the organisation and our customers well during the year, and he has a highly relevant background for continuing to develop Ocean Collective. I have great confidence in Daniel," says Jörgen Bergqvist, who steps down as CEO at the turn of the year and becomes Chairman of the Board.
What this means for Strategista
Leading Ocean Collective is a full-time commitment. Strategista's interim offer only works with full commitment, so the two cannot be combined. Strategista is therefore pausing its interim leadership practice and will not take on new interim assignments. The CEO role only works with full commitment meaning Strategista are pausing it´s offer on Strategy Consulting as well.

- Venture partnership
Strategista will not take on assignments that compete with Ocean Collective.

Daniel Warence has more than 20 years of experience in Swedish grocery retail and FMCG. He has served as CEO of Mino and Operating Director at Humble Group, held P&L responsibility at Orkla Confectionery & Snacks for seven years and held senior positions at Swedish Match. He also serves in numerous advisory boards.
